Red Roses and Bull Terriers

Today I'm finally sharing the Bull Terrier shoes I painted in April, you can see them in progress here.
These were really fun to do, they were based on the owners two adorable Bull Terriers!

I'm taking on custom shoe orders again!

I finally have the time to take on a few custom shoe orders again! Phew, it's good to be back.

Make Up & Bows Converse

I showed you a preview of these shoes a couple of weeks ago along with the Tokidoki themed converse. These shoes were for a make up artist, I'm really happy with how they turned out. I think make up is one of my favourite themes for shoes.

Nature Rebranded - The final shoe

Nature Rebranded Designs

I thought it was about time I showed you this term's work. You can see more of my uni work here.

My shoe designs this term have been based around the idea of rebranding nature - taking a natural object and making it man made. This term has been really exciting. We got to make our first ever shoe!

As you can see my final shoe was heavily inspired by rock formations. The idea was to create a man made rock formation as the platform, but to cover it in one solid colour to contrast with the natural texture of the platform.

Here's the mood board and designs for my final shoe, I'll be posting pictures of the shoe next week.

Bunnies & Pastel Clouds Converse

It's been a while since I painted a pair of shoes, but I finally have some time over the Easter holidays to work on a few orders (I'll be opening a few custom order slots on the shop again soon, so watch this space!).

Desk of the Day 23/02/14 - Pastel Clouds

Sorry for the lack of posts lately guys, I have an abundance of uni work and house hunting to be doing. But I'm still finding time to paint pastel clouds on shoes!

This is a new pair of converse I'm working on. Can you guess what the white blobs are going to be?

 

CAT Competition entry

Earlier this year CAT footwear launched a footwear competition to redesign their Colorado boot. Being a bit of a boot enthusiast I got a little excited at the thought of designing for such an awesome brand. I love that CAT are now branching out from their famous work boots and collaborating with young designers and I feel so lucky that I had the opportunity to meet the designers and the creative minds behind CAT when they visited my uni.

There's just something about a chunky, work style boot that screams camo at me. So my main influence for these designs was camo with a twist. Don't worry though guys, I threw some kawaii pizzas and hot dogs in for good measure. I've seen a few fashion bloggers styling the Colorado boot perfectly with crazy, colourful fashion choices, so it seemed natural to pull some of that energy into the boot design too.

The design I actually submitted to the competition was the third one, as I think it's a good middle ground between my usual garish, busy, colourful style and CAT's more reserved designs.

I'm still awaiting the competition results and have all my fingers and toes crossed. I'd love to work with CAT some day in the not so distant future.

Adventure Time Converse - The land of Ooo

I painted these shoes for a friend who is Tokidoki obsessed. She particularly loves the Donutella characters so I went for a Donutella theme.

Desk of the Day - The land of Ooo

This is my newest Adventure Time order I've been working on. The main theme I was given was "The Land of Ooo" so I've tried to include as many featured of Ooo as possible.

It's been fun to think about the background and surroundings of the characters more in this pair of shoes. I'd love to do a Candy Kingdom themed pair one day.

Marceline & Finn Rockin out - finished Converse

These are a new set of Adventure Time Converse I've been working on. It's been nice working with a different, less girly colour scheme for a change (although I am missing my aqua and lilac paints!). Click here to see them in progress.
