After a few days of catching up on my blog reading list I feel like I'm finally back in the blogging world again! Happy New Year everyone!! I hope 2013 brings lots of inspiration and success to my lovely readers.
My Christmas and New Year have been full of friends, family, food, and most importantly dogs and cats! I've been awful at taking pictures this year, there's not even one of our tree! Next year I WILL be more organised.
2013 appears to be off to a good start. Yesterday I signed in to my severely neglected Deviant Art account, only to find some of my Christmas Matryoshka had been chosen to be a Daily Deviation! I couldn't stop smiling for the rest of the day.
I also have a few really fun custom orders I'm working on right now, the new year seems to have brought me lots of inspiration and enthusiasm for my work!
Here are my 2013 goals:
I'll leave you all with a WIP screen shot. I've been playing about with some more material patterns, I love the little grey cats next to baby blue. This is in no way a finished pattern though!

Here are my 2013 goals:
- Sort my health out (last year I was diagnosed with a chronic illness that's limited me a bit more than I would like, this year I'm determined it's not going to get in the way! No more waiting to feel better, I need to just get on with life.)
- Start a range of Christmas cards and do at least 1 Christmas fair
- Work on my own illustration projects
- Give myself weekends off
- Take the dogs on longer walks
- Read my Game of Thrones books
- Go down to London for shoe making classes (eeeeek I'm so excited about this one!!)
- Start a new business (this is all a little hush hush at the moment, I will tell you all about it by the end of the year hopefully, if all goes to plan!)
- Visit my Gran more

I Love the cat print! And I know your Christmas cards will be the cutest!

Welcome back. Glad you had a rad christmas and new years. Your goals sound great. Can't wait to see the shoes you make and this new business.. hmmm... i wonder what it could be.
ReplyDeleteSounds really exciting!!! I feel like I am so behind on reading my blog list. I always give myself weekends off from the blog, unless it's snowing outside and we don't go anywhere. I have been watching those shoe designs on Instagram you have been working on. I can't wait to see them finished! You are so very talented. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's some list of goals -- I really need to sort out things I'd like to accomplish this year. Work on illustrations will definitely be on mine.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your illness. I got really sick in 2010 and it took a while to get a proper diagnosis (2011) and not knowing why I was sick was the suckiest part. Hopefully knowing about your illness will help you kick it's ass!
your goals are awesome and i keep fingers crossed for you.
ReplyDeleteaw these cats *_* !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3
Congrats congrats on the Daily Deviant! I remember getting on several years ago and I was ECSTATIC!! You totally earned it ;)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with your 2013 goals, they seem like good ones :) And Happy New Year!

Game of Thrones! Do you watch the show?? It's so awesome! I'd love to read the series as well! I'm about 50 pages into the first one but always have something else I want to read. Good luck to both of us for reading them this year!

I've had the whole Game of Thrones series collecting dust on my bookshelf for a while! I'm trying to get through another series before I commit to that one!
ReplyDeletei can't wait to see how this year goes for you! and that pattern is so so cute!
ReplyDeleteHave you got shoe making classes? Like, have you really got shoe making classes?! Can we have online classes after you've finished the course?!
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to teach anyone online i'm afraid, It's a very physical thing to learn and I think you need to be in an actual class to learn it
DeleteI'm applying for a shoe making university course in London now :) can't wait.
Good luck then! I'll wait for more pictures! x
