Red Roses and Bull Terriers

Today I'm finally sharing the Bull Terrier shoes I painted in April, you can see them in progress here.
These were really fun to do, they were based on the owners two adorable Bull Terriers!

Desk of the Day 26/07/2013 Sweet Stilettos

Since getting my new style of stilettos in stock I've been wanting to paint a pair for myself. Here are some I've been working on. Today I'll be adding the final details and sealing them ready to wear!

Maneki Neko & Polka Dot Heels!

You might remember this custom order that I posted a couple of days ago. It inspired me enough to paint some heels I had lying around. I'm now a little obsessed with Maneki Nekos and contemplating doing some digital illustrations of them when I get the time.

Lola the British Bull Terrier Heels

When I was a kid, British Bull Terriers were one of my favorite breeds of dogs. I loved that they look like a proper hard mans dog, yet every one of them I've met has had the softest and most loving temperament.

Painting these shoes was so much fun! These were a Christmas order, a lovely customer purchased them for his girlfriend. He sent me pictures of her dog, Lola. In most of the pictures Lola had a huge smiley face with her tongue hanging out, so I had to include a few drawings with her tongue hanging out on the shoes!

I really hope my customers girlfriend loves them! And I hope Miss Lola approves of her portraits!

Fabulous Flamingos

When Tottie from Pouting Penguin asked for some Flamingo heels I was so happy. I love Tottie's fashion sense and the beautiful shoes she features on her blog, so I was very flattered to be asked to paint some shoes for her! Tottie loves pink and turquoise which is one of my favorite colour combinations too!

Black Cat High Heels

I had lots of fun doing these black cat heels for a customer. I seem to be getting much more Halloweeny orders now it's getting closer to Halloween. I have a ton of black heels like this in stock in a variety of sizes, so if you want some customised just for you send me an email!

Skully Bow Heels

A creepy Skully Heels custom order just in time for Halloween. The customer wanted skulls with bows in a green and purple colour scheme. I love those colours together! They really stand out.

Grape Heels

I don't tend to do realistic looking things anymore, although I do get a lot of requests for more strawberry shoes. This customer wanted some more realistic looking grapes on black heels. I kind of used artistic licence and added a few extra bold lines and highlights.

Although this was way out of my comfort zone and completely not my usual style, I really enjoyed doing them and felt so rewarded when I finished them and liked the outcome. I'm going to have to keep pushing out of my comfort zone and doing more orders like this! I DO NOT need to paint happy faces on everything I do!

Unfortunately the pictures I got of these weren't too good, it was the gloomiest day ever when I photographed these and my camera dosn't like gloomy.

Rugby Wedding Shoes

I finished painting these wedding shoes last week. The lady asked me to base the shoes around her wedding invitations, which were a pretty pattern that subtley combined rugby balls with swirls and hearts. I included the bride and grooms names and the date of their wedding on the sides of the shoes too.

I have to admit, I was a little out of my comfort zone using just one colour and doing a tasteful design haha! I'm used to just splashing colour and happy faces over everything. But I really enjoyed doing these, I'd like to do more pretty shoes like these (as well as lots of awesome, silly, colourful shoes too).

Latest Shoes!!

I've been a busy bee this week, working on some handbags for a photoshoot and doing a few custom orders too :)

I seem to be getting lots of people wanting me to do shoes with their pets on these days. I think this is my new favourite thing to paint. When I get a spare few hours I think I'm going to have to paint myself some poodle and husky shoes so Effy and Holly don't feel left out!!

New shoes!!
