Wednesday Art Feature: Brooke Weeber

Brooke Weeber is a Portland based illustrator. Her work seems to be heavily inspired by the sea, nature, adventures and Victorian times.

I especially love Brooke's narwhal illustrations, they're so cute! She even sells a narwhal mug in her etsy shop.

Wednesday Art Feature: Jen Mann

Jen Mann is a Canadian based artist who specialises in mainly oil paintings. I first noticed her work on Tumblr, her beautiful painting of a blueish toned man on a pink background stunned me. I knew I had to see more of her beautiful work!

Jen's art explores the subconcious, beauty, identity and freedom. The finished pieces will take your breath away, they look fragile yet strong, and spiritual yet realistic.

Wednesday Art Feature: River Luna

River Luna is an Etsy shop featuring the work of Marisa Redondo, an illustrator from the US. Her work is heavily inspired by nature, and arranged in beautiful colour schemes and compositions.

I love her use of white and space within her work, and the adorable bear and fox creatures she draws. Marisa has work that would appeal to everyone, from natural feathers and branches drawn in her unique style, to cute bears and birds.

Wednesday Art Feature: Kristin Tercek

I've been a big fan of Kristin Tercek's paintings for a few years now and thought you guys might enjoy having a look at her wonderful work.

Kristin's artwork is like everything I love squashed into one painting. Her work is cute, a little creepy, beautifully painted and full of brightness.

When Kristin originally started her company "Cuddly Rigor Mortis" she mainly crafted plusies that she has designed, but in 2008 decided to make the change to painting. I'm so glad she did! Seh's become one of my favourite artists over the past few years. The amount of detail and skill that goes in to her work is incredible.

Wednesday Art Feature: Kristina Møller

Kristina Møller is a Canadian artist based in Toronto. Her work combines two of my most favourite things, pretty colours and animals! I often find myself wishing I could see the world through the eyes of different artists, and Kristina is certainly one of them. Her imaginitive paintings and confused, childlike portraits are so unique.

She sells her original work too, and for such reasonable prices! I have so many of her paintings on my Christmas wish list. I can't wait to decorate my house with her adorable little cat & dog paintings.

Which one is your favourite? Mine is the girl with the turquoise hair.

Wednesday Art Feature: Jill Colbert

I first came across Jill Colbert's art on her Deviantart page. I was instantly mesmerised by her imaginative, colourful, almost hypnotic work. Not only are her finished pieces amazing, but she always shares the most amazing sketchbook work too.

Jill also has an etsy shop, where you can buy her work for very decent prices! Even the originals are really afforable.

Grape Heels

I don't tend to do realistic looking things anymore, although I do get a lot of requests for more strawberry shoes. This customer wanted some more realistic looking grapes on black heels. I kind of used artistic licence and added a few extra bold lines and highlights.

Although this was way out of my comfort zone and completely not my usual style, I really enjoyed doing them and felt so rewarded when I finished them and liked the outcome. I'm going to have to keep pushing out of my comfort zone and doing more orders like this! I DO NOT need to paint happy faces on everything I do!

Unfortunately the pictures I got of these weren't too good, it was the gloomiest day ever when I photographed these and my camera dosn't like gloomy.
