Beautiful Ukuleles from Chopstitch

Today I wanted to share with you kick ass work by my sister-from-another-mister, Ginge (Chopstitch). Ginge had recently started painting ukuleles, and they're pretty freaking awesome. If you don't already own an Adventure Time ukulele you should probably get one and learn the Adventure Time theme on it right now.

Ginge sells more of her happy creations on her Etsy shop Chopstitch. You can email her at chopstitchcrafts@gmail.com for all custom ukuklele orders and enquiries.

You can follow Ginge's cute creative works on her:

And don't forget to check out her blog Cosmos and Crayons to keep up to date on the Adventures of Ginge and Sloth on their scientific journey through space.

Blogwatch - 6/10/13

Things have been busier than usual since moving to London, and I feel like an awful blogging friend for not keeping up to day with my fav blogs. So it was a nice relief this morning to spend a couple of hours preparing this post and browsing through some lovely blogs.

Diana from Parents and the City took her son on a trip to Brooklyn Bridge and took some beautiful photos.

Mo from Fleur De Moi always posts brilliant Wednesday Wishlists, her blog is bad for my bank account.

SD Photography took some very unusual wedding photos in Malta. I love the dramatic and spooky look of this one.

Jessa from Caked Vintage has a new family member, and he's just too adorable for words.

I think Alex and Paige from Whimsy Darling are so stylish and sweet. I'm very happy I stumbled upon their blog this morning.

Talented illustrator Avo shares her Great Gatsby inspired business card design. I think it's perfect for a vintage shop!

Stasia Burrington Giveaway

Today I want to introduce you all to the art and jewellery of Stasia Burrington. I first discovered Stasia on Etsy a few weeks ago, and she's very kindly offered to do a giveaway for a piece of her jewellery. I recently discovered Stasia's website and portfolio too, where you can check out more of her beautiful illustration and art work.

I love this quote from Stasia, I think it sums up her style so well:

"I create personal, intimate, edgy and cute artwork; I want to inspire discussion, to form connections, and to respond to all this pain and beauty that we live in... to share all these human feelings, and to inspire compassion and humility."

And now for the Giveaway!
The winner of this giveaway gets to pick any piece of jewellery from Stasia's Etsy Shop.

Matryoshka Wedding Invitations

I've finally decided to set up a listing for custom wedding invitations on my shop. After being asked to do some wedding invitations a few weeks ago, I enjoyed them so much that I want to do more! I can do them in any theme (the wackier the better, obviously!).

Here are the finished invitations from a couple of weeks ago, I'm so happy with how they turned out. The brief was Matryoshka Dolls and swallows on brown paper. It worked out better to fill the background with a brown paper texture and print on white card so I could keep all the detail of the bride's white dress.

Adventure Time Treasury!

Most of you who follow me on instagram will probably notice I've become a little Adventure Time obsessed lately. I've even been painting some Adventure Time Russian Dolls.

I decided to have a look on Etsy for some Adventure Time themed goodies, some of them were too good not to share! So here they are:

Pink on the Cheek

A couple of weeks ago Lauren from Pink on the Cheek asked me to do a digital illustration to go with her new blog design (above is the banner she used the illustration in).

Lauren wanted something pretty simple, a blonde lady with rosy cheeks and no background. I usually tend to keep my illustrations busy and bright, so it was really nice to get back to basics and work on a simple illustration. It gave me space to really think about the skin tone and hair colour.

I couldn't decide between a more yellowish blonde or an ash blonde tone, so I let Lauren choose. She ended up choosing the more yellowish tone which works really nicely with the pink font.

If you'd like your own digital illustration, check out my custom illustration listing in my shop or email me at ponychopsshop @ gmail.com

Here are both the ash blonde and the yellow blonde finished illustrations:

Wednesday Art Feature: Uncle Patrick (Lauren Young Smith)

Uncle Patrick (aka Lauren YoungSmith) is one of my newest finds of Deviant Art. Her gallery is stunning, it's full of weird creatures and creepy humanoids. I'm absolutely in love with her work, I wish I could jump in her head and see all of the monsters and creatures she comes up with.

Wednesday Art Feature: Anke Weckmann

Anke Weckmann is a London based artist originally from Germany. Her work is light hearted and often includes animals (especially cats!). I love the way she draws clothes & materials, I can see her work would translate beautifully to fashion illustration.
