Remake & Remodel - Thumbnail Designs

For my Remake Remodel project I did two A3 sheets of tiny designs based on DNA & bacteria. The next stage after this is to take 6 designs and develop them, then choose the final design from those.

My Little Pony Converse

This is a pair of My Little Pony Converse that I finished painting last week. I haven't watched MLP since I was about 4, so it's crazy to see how much their cartoon characters have changed. As always, I love doing a fun, bright and cartoony theme, so these shoes were very fun to paint!

High Top Bootception

Yo dawg, I heard you like boots, so I put boots on your boots so you can wear boots while you wear boots. Before you class me as insane from reading the last sentence, read this.

These designs are based on my High Top Boot pattern, because who wouldn't want shoes with shoes on?! They're inspired by Dr Martens, my fav kind of boot. I did these for my portfolio when I found out I had an interview for London College of Fashion, I also got the opportunity to show them to the lovely people at Dr Martens when I had an interview for their factory internship. I'm really happy with how these turned out. I love combining classic shoe designs with busy patterns. I think the lilac ones are my fav but I am a little bit biased towards anything lilac.

Desk of the Day - 12/07/2013 - Pastel Slime

I'm working on these fun shoes today! I love the original colour of the high tops so much that I decided to let a lot of it show through. I found a new high top stockist who sells them in pretty colours like baby pink and baby blue as well as the normal white ones, so I'm hoping I get some more pastelly orders soon!

Fluff & Abe Lincoln High Tops

This has been such a fun pair of shoes to paint! When it comes to theme ideas, the crazier the better! And I think this has definitely been the oddest order I've had this year.

The lady who ordered these gave me a simple brief; green tentacles, Marshmallow Fluff and Abe Lincoln. At first I struggled to think how these could work together, but in the end I'm really satisfied with how these have turned out.

Desk of the Day - 01/07/2013 - Fluff & Stuff

This is by far the craziest/coolest theme I've been asked for. I bet you won't even be able to guess what's on the other side of the right shoe! Here's a hint, it's NOT Marshmallow Fluff.

These Marshmallow Fluff & tentacle inspired shoes are just awaiting a few more finished details and some neatening up before they're ready to photograph. This project has pushed me to do a much different style to normal, and I feel I've learned and improved through painting them. It's always fun to do something different.

Adventure Time High Tops

This was a super fun pair of shoes I did as a gift, I love doing anything Adventure Time themed! I had so much fun doing these & the Adventure Time Russian Dolls that I think I'm going to have to paint myself some Adventure Time themed converse.

Gothic Bunnies Hi Tops

This is my one of my latest sets of custom Hi tops. I LOVE doing hi tops, I wish I could do more of them.

The theme the customer gave me was neon green, black, white & gothic bunnies. Which I thought was a kick ass theme for a pair of shoes! I loved doing these, especially the bunny pattern, I'm thinking of turning that into a material pattern. I decided to add a bit of purple and pink to compliment the green.

Justin Bieber Sneakers

A few weeks ago I got contacted by the wonderful Phoebe Dykstra from the Canadian music show New music live.
Phoebe asked me to paint her two pairs of shoes, this is the first pair; Justin Bieber themed sneakers. Phoebe is going to be wearing these next time she interviews Justin. I can't lie, the little girl inside me is very excited about Justin Bieber seeing these shoes!
