Desk of the Day - Geometric Origami

There's only two weeks until the end of this uni term for me, so I've been spending the last couple of weeks working like crazy for my deadlines.

Today I'm working on a geometric origami based pattern for my project, here's a sneak peak:

Desk of the Day - 27/02/2014

I feel like I've been so absent from blogging lately! My uni schedule is a little be crazy due to deadlines next week. So I thought I'd share with you a little something I'm working on today.

This pattern is going to be printed onto some leather for the inside of my final shoe this term. I've gone for a rock/geometric theme for the shoe so I wanted the theme to continue on the inside.

Remake & Remodel - finally a catch up!

Hey guys, long time no speak! I'm sorry last week was a little empty on the blog. This term at uni is whizzing past and I feel like I haven't even shared any of it with you yet! I'm hoping to organize my time a little better this next couple of weeks so I can share some more work and London life with you.

This term I have two big projects, one named "Remake - Remodel". I'm not going to go into any crazy detail with it yet as I've been sat at a computer for 12 hours today! So here's some dodecahedron patterns that I made for the project. Hopefully I'll get to explain the project to you some more in some future posts, but for now I'm off home to sunny Preston! I can't wait to finally get some fat cat and crazy doggy cuddles! Can you believe I've been away from them almost 2 months now?

Etsy Shop Feature: Chilli Peppa

While browsing through etsy shops, Chilli Peppa seemed to just jump right at me. The bright and bold african printed fabric make this shop really stand out.

Chilli Peppa is based in Milton Keynes in the UK and specialises in supplying wax printed african fabric. I want ALL of these fabrics to make pretty dresses out of! I'm certainly going to keep this place in mind for my new line of dresses.

Chilli Peppa also has a twitter and a facebook.

What would you make out of these beautiful fabrics? I think I'd love to make some harem pants from the pink, green and blue batik fabric.

Etsy Shop Feature: Double Fox Studio

Double Fox Studio certainly stands out from the crowd on etsy. It's combination of creepy, creative and quirky is bound to make you want to see more.

Double Fox Studio is the creations of two artists: Ildiko Muresan and Flavia Marele. They have been creating art together since 2003. Their shop includes: creepy dolls, unusual jewellery and original art. All of which has an almost childlike charm to it.

Ildiko and Flavia also have a blog where you can check out their newest work.

Three little pretties

I just had to share this photo of the three pairs of shoes I was finishing yesterday. They're just waiting for their matching laces to arrive before I photograph them properly.

The first set are a unicorn themed custom order, I loved doing these! I spent so much time on the sunset clouds behind them.

The second set is a Zelda themed custom order, the Zelda cartoons were so cute to draw. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

The third set are for the shop, I just loved these colours. I think i'll save them for my pastelly photo shoot before I put them up for sale.

Etsy Shop Feature: Retro Menagerie

Retro Menagerie is based in California and was founded in 2011 by Jaymee Srp. At first glance it's obvious why her work has been so popular.
The compositions are beautifully thought out, the colours complimentary and soothing. Her prints and fabrics would suit almost any home.

Jaymee also has a beautiful design blog, full of fantastic interior design ideas and certainly worth checking out!

Etsy Shop Feature: Mengsel Design

This shop more than satisfies my craving for pattern and colour. Mengsel sells the work of Luzelle van der Westhuizen, who started off as a jewellery designer in Cape Town before moving to London to sell her colourful prints. The word "Mengsel" actually means mixture in Afrikaans and Dutch.

If you want to see more of Luzelle's work, check out the Mengsel website and blog.

We all need to get a little UPTIGHT

My legging and tight obsession certainly hasn't been helped by the discovery of the shop UpTights. They have so many wonderful colours and patterns! I couldn't choose just 1 pair!! They are really reasonably priced too

What's even more exciting is they are having and Holiday SALE at the moment (which ends 17th November so get buying before it ends)! All you have to do is enter the code HOLIDAYSPECIAL when you purchase their item and you get 20% off.

Tabitha Bianca Brown

I was browsing though some etsy treasuries today and came across this adorable artwork. It's by the illustrator Tabitha Bianca Brown. Check out her etsy shop and her blog.

I think what I love most about her work is the combination of the modern geometric shapes and colours with the wooden textures she uses.

I would be so so happy if I could get a t-shirt with one of her designs on!!
